Oh, Mrs. Williams, don't discourage biking! Katie will be back in the saddle soon, I know. It's like taking a toss off a horse---gotta hop back on. But drivers can be horrible, so lots of caution (and a good helmet) is needed!

Katie Lee! What have I said about riding bikes? Get better soon, get qualified as a doctor, then you too can buy a BMW and drive it very very slowly around London not hurting anyone. Forget the environment/congetion charge! Main thing - you will be safe inside! And a small offer of consolation - I have a rugby playing friend who's had serious boots in the teeth etc and dentists can do fantastic things. Your beautiful smile will be restored!

Oh wow... I'm so glad she's okay! If it is any consolation, my boyfriend Tim had to have a pacemaker implanted during his first year of med school.. and he missed two big exams-- but he refused to take the rest of the year off and ended up studying from the hospital room! (I, on the other hand, probably would have wallowed in self-pity and trashy mags from Elizabeth)... But Katie's a trooper, so best of luck with the recovery... we're thinking about you over here!

I will give her your message, BWJ. I just put her outside in the sunshine and took off some of the bandages so they could get some fresh air. Gawd, she is a bloody mess still! They can't even prise her mouth open now to do any emergency dental work. She can't eat or anything. Her lips are so swelled up as they split right open that she looks worse than that Wildenstein woman who had too much plastic surgery.
I told her that if she just wanted to get a banjo, she could be a blue grass singer or a country-western star with her snaggle-toothed/no teeth look that she has now.
