My company is laying off thousands of workers and are having seminars to help us find other jobs. I was at one today where we were told that due to new anti-ageism legislation, we don't have to put any years on our resumes/CVs anymore. A guy in his 30s raised his hand and asked sweetly:
But why would I want to hide my date of birth?
We old-timers in the room began to laugh. Just wait 20 years, I wanted to say, and you can find out the answer for yourself.

CVs in Italy require the date of birth to be displayed on them. The lalck of it is seen as "un professional". I'm not even sure we have anti-ageism legislation, but even if we had, they'd follow the sad fate of the anti-sexism legislation: they are just not taken in any consideration at all...
I guess Italian CVs have to have date of births on them so Berlusconi will know if they are young enough to invite to one of his parties?
So maybe that's also the reason why they require a photo!!!
