My new diet plans gone awry

I was going to go another diet. I'd gained 10 pounds since I started working at Nokia, and this time, it was coming off!

I stopped eating crisps and cut down on sugar, but nothing came off. I was perplexed.

Still thinking about it as I reached for some nuts in my cabinet at work where I keep snacks.

Turned the package over to check the calories -- it was only a small bag.

I dropped the bag in alarm! One small bag contains 4,000 calories!

FOUR THOUSAND. Can you even comprehend that amount?

I meant to only eat a handful during the day but I'd been consuming half a bag.

So that was giving me an additional 2,000 calories a day. What a great diet plan I'd devised.

What the heck kind of nuts are they??? My dry roasted peanuts are 160 cal/oz, and yes they have fats, but they are the kind that are good for you. You'd have to eat 25 oz (whole jar) to get to 4000. Enjoyed in moderation, they are good to lower cholesterol levels and a handfull eaten before a meal can help you feel full sooner.

Drew's right. Nuts are good for you, But you have to eat them INSTEAD OF, not IN ADDITION TO other proteins! A handful of nuts is a serving of meat, so you gotta forgo the steak at supper.

All these "diets" really are a load of hooey. To lose weight, you gotta go hungry, and ramp up the cardio exercise! And nobody over 50 needs one milligram of sugar, period. Harsh truth!

But even if it's pure fat, it takes over a pound of it to make 4000 calories!

I'll have to have a look at that bag.
