Most Halloween candy prayed over by witches

Pat Robertson's Christian Broadcasting Network posted a blog by Kimberly Daniels recently that warns Christians to forgo celebrating Halloween because of its evilness. Daniels specifically calls out candy as a source of soul-molestation:

"During this period demons are assigned against those who participate in the rituals and festivities. These demons are automatically drawn to the fetishes that open doors for them to come into the lives of human beings. For example, most of the candy sold during this season has been dedicated and prayed over by witches."

"Curses are sent through the tricks and treats of the innocent whether they get it by going door to door or by purchasing it from the local grocery store. The demons cannot tell the difference."

Personal Halloween Candy Update
A British friend at work brought me back some Halloween candy from a recent business trip to San Diego. I was so excited as you can't get the American stuff over here.

She tried to describe what she'd bought: "I bought some multi-colored pyramid things," she explained.

I was scratching my head over that one, then realized she must be talking about Candy Corn. (Now it's been rechristened Pyramid Things in my family though.)

And then she explained about a toffee thing that had sticks in the bag. Ah, she meant caramels for making caramel apples. She asked me to please take a photo of one after I make them for the kids this weekend.

I am so excited to have actual Halloween candy from America in my home this year. Thanks Reeya!

I didn't know that pseudo-christian was still alive. Ah well.

Your article reminded me - I have some atomic fireballs left fro,m a US trip. UK kids have never had these. Are they a trick or a treat, I wonder?

A demure lady colleague offered we Brits some during a meeting in the head office. She was enjoying one. And they look so innocent, as does she to this day!

So I took, and sucked, and it was pleasant.

And then it wasn't.

But she was enjoying her!

My colleagues appeared to be enjoying theirs, too.

Now those must have been prayed over by witches! How can cinnamon be so evil?

Ah, the clue is in the name! ~sings~ "Oh cinnamon, where ya gonna run to..."

Laughed when I read this comment. Yes, Atomic Fireballs have a kick to them.

My Brit husband thinks the American obsession with having cinnamon in every dish is so weird. I used to annoy him for years in our marriage by writing Cinnamon on every shopping list I made for him. (Later on I used to add New Husband but he says the store never had one.)

Happy Halloween, TT, and don't freak your trick or treaters out by giving them Atomic Fireballs when their little British mouths aren't ready for it.

"Demons can't tell the difference?" Okay, somewhere in there and in Tim's Atomic Balls comment, there's a wickedly fun way to poke fun at Pat Robertson and his ilk.
I've come to determine that anything that culture and society deems a pleasant and harmless pastime, Robertson or his mouthpieces at CBN and the 700 Club will find harmful.
~sigh~
I guess that when I open my door to the Christian missionaries who always manage to find the wrong time to knock, I'm out of line when I invite them in for a goat sacrifice & BBQ replete with Halloween candy eh?

Heck, the clue's in the name. It says Atomic Fireball so caveat sucker!

I wonder if they work as laxative suppositories for Mr Robertson? But then, who would hold him down to insert them?

"Be still, man, we're removing the Devil's work!"

Maybe true, maybe not. But anything that is scary in nature - I don't let my children have anything to do with it. But "it's trick and treat", you say, it's just all fun... well, maybe we can think of something else that is funny & soothing & enjoyable to do as a family during that day...
